Cabrillo

The Burnside Cabrillo is a knife that was designed by master knife maker Bob Burnside. The knife is named after the Cabrillo National Monument, which is located in San Diego, California. The monument commemorates the landing of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, who was the first European to set foot on what is now the West Coast of the United States. The Burnside Cabrillo is a large knife, with a blade that measures just over 9 inches long. The blade is made from A2 tool steel, and is heat treated to a Rockwell hardness of 58-60. The blade has a saber grind, and a false edge along the top. There is also a blood groove running down the center of the blade. The handle of the knife is made from black micarta, and it measures just over 5 inches long. The handle has a finger groove near the base of the blade, which provides extra grip and control when using the knife. There is also a lanyard hole at the end of the handle, which allows for easy attachment of a lanyard or other type of cordage. The sheath for the Burnside Cabrillo is made from black Kydex, and it features two belt loops that are adjustable for both vertical and horizontal carry positions. The sheath also has a drainage hole at the bottom, to help prevent water buildup inside of it. The Burnside Cabrillo is an excellent choice for anyone in need of a large fixed blade knife for outdoor activities such as camping or hiking. It can also be used as a self-defense weapon if necessary.
